The Inishduff Hermits Presentation Night took place on Saturday night in the Tara Hotel Killybegs.
The event raised a total of €30,000. A cheque for €10,000 was presented by James Gavigan and Johnny Paul Mc Guinness to each of the following charities: Crumlin Children's Hospital (accepted by Shane & Nicole Mc Crudden), Donegal Hospice (accepted by Fr Eddie Gallagher) and St Mary's Restoration Fund, Killybegs (accepted by Anne Rodgers & Ann O'Donnell).
Killybegs Parish Priest, Fr Colm Gallchir, expressed his thanks to all who were involved in the event. ‘‘In particular, we would like to thank the two volunteers, James Gavigan and Johnny Paul McGuinness, who spent a week in prayerful solitude on Inishduff Island, our fundraising committee, the many helpers who organised the distribution and collection of sponsorship cards, the people in various parishes who organised and took up the collections and all who helped in any way.''
Fr Gallchir added, ‘‘Thanks to those who accepted the cheques on behalf of the three charities, thanks to the Tara Hotel for their generous help and support this evening and for all who helped with this presentation evening.''
