Tánaiste welcomes funding for work at Kilcar NS
Mary Coughlan, TD, tnaiste and minister for education and skills, has approved funding for drainage and fencing works at Kilcar National School.
"Kilcar National School is a great example of the important role played by a good primary school in any community," the tnaiste said. "I have had the opportunity to visit the school earlier this year and was very impressed by the school and the staff there, as well as the pupils."
The government has directed more than 35 million euro into capital education projects in Donegal since 2007, she said, calling the government investment of 579 million euro in this year's school building programme a demonstration of government interest in investing in the productive capacity of the economy, creating construction jobs and providing students and teachers with the best educational environment in which to learn and work. The Kilcar funding is being made available under the 2010 Contingency Works Programme.
