Magh Éne students' talent in the spotlight

Not wanting the weather to get the better of them Magh ne College, Bundoran held their annual Variety Concert last Thursday with a capacity crowd in attendance.
Students showcased their many talents through music, song, dance and drama. Over 20 acts performed on stage in the college Sports Hall providing almost three hours of a great night's entertainment for the audience.
Alannah Nic A Bhaird, Beth Travers, Heather McGowan, Chloe Johnston, Sonya Leahy, Sarah Patton, Sarah Walsh, Deirdre Meehan and Dominique McClenaghan performed solo while two of the college bands ‘Vintage Infants' with Eanna McNulty, Aaron O Connor and Aaron McGloin, and ‘The Boys', Jason Kelly, Conor Marshall and Lorintu Kelly brought the house down with their performances.
Transition Year student Kitty Pang performed Chopin's Waltz No. 10 to huge acclaim. First Years, Second Years, Transition Years and Fifth Years provided the drama on the night, with a variety of comedy sketches. With Music now on the curriculum in the college, Ms McAree's music group performed a myriad of musical acts with some jigs and reels included. Niamh MacHale, Cliffoney performed a soft shoe reel which she will also be performing with the school group who travel to China next month.
The College Choir closed the show with an Abba medley and Leonard Cohen's ‘Hallelujah'.
Principal Jacqueline O'Reilly-Dillon thanked everyone for attending, with special words of gratitude and praise for the students and to the college staff for all their hard work and effort in putting the show together. Huge praise was given to the students on the great talent on display and plans are already afoot for next years' 20th Anniversary Concert. A presentation was also given to Paul Kelly in acknowledgement of his continued musical support.
