Temperatures approach -16
Donegal experienced some of the lowest temperatures of the severe weather on Sunday night with -15C recorded.
Killygordon maintained its reputation as the county's coldest spot as the mercury dropped to -15.7. But temperatures dropped below -10 across the county.
Temperatures stayed below zero in most parts of the county yesterday meaning conditions on roads and pavements stayed treacherous.
Temperatures of -5.6 were recorded by the National Roads Authority on the N13 at Burt after sundown last night. The temperature in Killygordon was -4.5, -3.9 was recorded in Bundoran and the temperature was at -3.4 at Lough Mourne. Road temperatures were even lower at the same time with -7.9 recorded at Burt.
Temperatures were due to drop to as low as -12 last night and today and tomorrow are also expected to be bitterly cold days. Daytime temperatures are not expected to reach zero until Thursday.
