The Vocational Educational Education Committee in Donegal in association with the self-help AWARE organisation is extending their hands of friendship in providing the opportunity to give a little hope to those who live in darkness.

AWARE is a voluntary organisation based both nationally and locally and opens their doors to people living without hope for the future.

VTOS students at the Adult Education Centre, Donegal Town have organised a fantastic night in aid of AWARE which promises great entertainment with host Noel Cunningham in the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town on Friday, April 8 at 9pm. The night starts off with a fun quiz followed by a 70s and 80s themed disco with fancy dress very much encouraged.

On entry there will be a free draw open to all for local prizes and also an opportunity to take part in a super draw for over a thousand euros worth of prizes. The winning quiz table team will walk away with five hundred euros worth of prizes on the night.

If these aren’t reasons enough to come and support this fundraising event please consider that one in twenty people in Ireland suffer in silence and depression can be a hidden condition due to the stigma attached to it. Many families, friends and relatives have suffered from the silence. The money raised through this local fundraiser will provide hope and a brighter future.

AWARE provides an ear to those who have no one else to talk to and provides meetings locally so that problems big or small can be shared and resolved through the power of speaking out and being listened to.

VTOS students would like to take this opportunity to thank local businesses who both contributed and supported the fundraiser so far. A special thank you goes out to Louise Gallen winner of Face of Ireland 2010 and also Noel Cunningham for not only supporting the cause but giving their time to appear on the night.
