Cosmetics distributor owed Revenue €577,000 – a dozen Donegal defaulters named

Settlements published on Tuesday cover the final three months of last year and amount to just under E15m nationally.

The largest Donegal settlement was with Mary McAnaney of Dunmore, Carrigans, a cosmetic product distributor who owed a total of E577,677.27. This was made of up of E283,857.88 in tax, E80,925.98 in interest and E212,893.41 in penalties.

The second biggest settlement was made by M & M Moore Ltd, supermarket proprietors at Ballybofey Shopping Centre. The company owed a total of E180,000, made up of E126,036.00 in tax, E16,154.00 in interest and E37,810.00 in penalties.

James Callaghan, a haulage contractor from Dromore, Letterkenny, owed E145,512.92 - E48,633.00 in tax, E60,421.92 in interest and E36,458.00 in penalties.

Alfred Ladley, a retired publican from Upper Carrigart, owed E140,000 - E49,160.84 in tax, E51,025.58 in interest and E39,813.58 in penalties.

Pineford Ltd,, a company that operated nightclubs and was based at Port Road, Letterkenny, has now been dissolved. The company also owed a total of E140,000 to the Revenue Commissioners - E52,911.00 in tax, E47,171.00 in interest and E39,918.00 in penalties.

Mineral water wholesaler Gerard McLoughlin of Milltown, Gleneely owed E117,500.00 - E36,177.44 in tax, E54,189.47 in interest and E27,133.09 in penalties.

Kieran Porter, of 429 Cavan Hill, Lifford, a café proprietor and fuel merchant, owed E114,495.00 - E78,674.00 in tax, E12,219.00 in interest and E23,602.00 in penalties.

James Boyle, retired, from Meenahalla, Glenties, owed E100,000 - E34,812.00 in tax, E39,079.00 in interest and E26,109.00 in penalties.

Hibley Ltd, real estate sales and plant hire providers of Greenan, Oort, Gleneely owed E98,229.87 - E62,545.00 in tax, E10,666.87 in interest and E25,018.00 in penalties.

Lee McQuillan, a metal fabrication engineer from Magheraroarty, owed E49,977.00 - E35,934.00 in tax, E3,263.00 in interest and E10,780.00 in penalties.

Restaurateur Patricia Keenan of West End, Bundoran, owed E44,650.00 - E18,744.00 in tax, E12,985.00 in interest and E12,921.00 in penalties.

John McGill, retired, of Loughnagin, Ramelton Road, Letterkenny, owed E37,724.00 - E21,750.00 in tax, E9,449.00 in interest and E6,525.00 in penalties.
