The Minister for Children, Frances Fitzgerald TD, will speak at an information session on the EU Stability Treaty in Letterkenny, on Friday.

She will also attend events in Donegal Town and Ballyliffen.

The event in Letterkenny takes place at Arena 7 and will start at 5pm. It’s being hosted by Fine Gael TD, Joe McHugh whose party is campaigning for a YES vote in the EU Stability Treaty referendum, which will take place on May 31st.

“A YES vote will protect countries including Ireland from the recklessness of any one individual EU country,” Deputy McHugh said.

“A YES vote will also send out a global message that this is a stable country, which is very important for inward investment. Foreign Direct Investment created 249 new jobs in Donegal in 2011.

“Voters must be given ample information on this Treaty. The EU Stability Treaty is an 11-page document, and a copy of the Treaty will be posted to every household in the country.”
