A District Judge told ‘A Woman’s Heart’ singing star, Delores Keane, he was sure she would much rather be remembered for her successful singing career than her convictions for drink driving.
The 58-year old mother of two from Charlistrane, Tuam, Co. Galway appeared in Glenties District Court today charged with drink driving at The Derries, Glenties on March 26, 2011.
The court heard that the singer had since sought treatment for her drinking and that she was fully off alcohol.
Judge Paul Kelly wished her well with her ongoing recovery but warned that if she appeared before the court on such charges again she would be “seriously in peril”.
He added: “Two previous convictions make it very serious but I acknowledge the efforts you are making.”
She was fined €300 and disqualified from driving for four years.
