Investigating gardaí have made two arrests as part of the investigation into the murder of Seamus Doherty.
A male aged in his 40s was arrested yesterday evening (Wednesday) and a female in her 50s was arrested this morning. They are both detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Letterkenny Garda Station.
At approximately 1.50am on the Sunday, June 17, gardaí and emergency services were called to a house at Drumacnoo near the village of Churchill where the body of 67-year-old Seamus Doherty was discovered. He was pronounced dead at the scene and removed to Letterkenny Hospital.
Following a post-mortem examination carried out by the State Pathologist Prof. Marie Cassidy on Tuesday, it was established that Mr Doherty had died in suspicious circumstances.
An incident room was set up at Letterkenny Garda Station and gardaí are conducting a murder investigation.
