Arranmore Lifeboat was called out yesterday to assist a group of divers on a stricken vessel.

Nora Flanagan, spokesperson for Arranmore RNLI, told the Donegal Democrat: “Three divers on a catamaran got into difficulties when their engine lost power and the steering failed.

“The incident occurred at 11.09 approximately one mile south of Arranmore Island.

The lifeboat towed the catamaran safely back to Burtonport. Sea conditions at the time were calm.

The RNLI is a voluntary organisation, run entirely on donations, that responds to calls 24/7 in all types of weather and sea conditions.
