A special mass will be held at 8pm tonight (Monday) in Termon following the tragic death of local man, Andrew Duffy, whose body was recovered from a Dublin canal last night.
The popular Termon GAA player who is a son of John and Margaret Duffy, Golddrum, died just hours after watching Donegal clinch a place in the All-Ireland final.
Gardaí are investigating the 24-year-old’s death after he was discovered at Binns Bridge at around 11.45pm on Sunday night. He was taken to the Mater Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Gardaí said it appears he fell into the water.
The scene has been preserved and gardaí are appealing for information.
It is understood that Andrew had been out with friends after the All-Ireland semi-final in which Donegal recorded an historic victory against Cork.
