Funding of €74,022 has been announced for the North West Development Cross Border Projec

The International Fund for Ireland has granted the money to the organisation to help further the activities of the Tyrone Derry Donegal Action, The Old Library Trust, and The Junction. This project aims to challenge attitudes to sectarianism, encourage active civic participation and promote greater community integration within and across the Tyrone, Londonderry/Derry, and Donegal catchments.

The funding was made under the IFI’s Integrating Community Organisations Programme.

This allocation was part of an overall funding announcement of €1.4m made following’s the recent meeting of the IFI Board in Derry.

Other grants announced include:

- £885,412 for a Peace Walls Programme initiative in Belfast and two in Derry which will deliver a range of confidence and relationships building measures within and between interface communities, aimed at helping local residents to move to a position where they feel it is safe and appropriate for the removal of peace walls to commence.

-£100,000 for City Connections, a cross-community cultural arts and culture programme to be delivered by Belfast Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich in conjunction with Windsor Women’s Group and the 174 Trust; and

- £130,006 for Lurgan Youth Providers and The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland’s projects in Derry, Magherafelt, Newtownbutler, and Ballycastle.
