The R232 Laghey to Pettigo is closed today to allow removal of the lorry involved in a fatal crash yesterday.
The single vehicle collision occurred at Bannus, Pettigo when the lorry left the road at around 11.30am.
The driver, Pranas Asmonas, a 38-year-old Lithuanian who was living near Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His remains were removed to Letterkenny General Hospital.
Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Donegal town Garda station on 074 974 0190, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
A Garda spokesperson says today’s road closure, from 10am, is likely to last for several hours.
Diversions are in place.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital after a being struck by a vehicle at Barnesmore Gap this morning.
The incident occurred at around 8am. The woman’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and the road remained open throughout.
