G8 scare: Bomb planted along Donegal Fermanagh border - newspaper claims
A Sunday tabloid is claiming that dissident republicans have planted a milk churn containing a bomb on the Donegal Fermanagh border ahead of the G8 summit.

A Sunday tabloid is claiming that dissident republicans have planted a milk churn containing a bomb on the Donegal Fermanagh border ahead of the G8 summit.

The paper quoted an ‘unnamed security source” as saying: “Intelligence has been received on both sides of the border that the dissidents have planted a device in a cream churn.” T

The PSNI told this newspaper “as with any high profile event attended by world leaders, there is heightened risk to the summit, however, the PSNI, with the support of 3,500 officers from England Scotland and Wales, will have the appropriate resources in place to ensure the security of the summit, its delegates, their staff, and the community of Fermanagh.”

A response from the Garda Press Office by the Donegal Democrat, is awaited.
