The winner of the massive €10m lotto jackpot has placed a bet on Donegal taking the All-Ireland for the second successive season second time.
Kevin Geoghegan made headlines this week when he and his partner Carol Lorgan collected their bumper cheque at the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin. Yesterday, Kevin told the Donegal Democrat: “I have placed a bet on Donegal to win. I fancy them. I am not going to say how much of a bet I placed on them, but I did back them.
“I fancy other teams to win, too. I am a betting man,” he said.
It emerged in recent days that Kevin and Boylesports worker, Carol, were the winners of the €10,565,261 jackpot after buying the €4 Quick Pick in their home town of Mullingar.
Earlier this week, sports fan Kevin said: “Donegal are looking good at the moment and their manager Jim McGuinness is a driven man. You can see that the team would lay their lives down for him on the field. It’s very good value at 2/1, but I think Dublin or Kerry could be also there or thereabouts when September comes around.”
