A new music programme called “Chamber music for strings” will take place this summer with tutors of Donegal VEC Music Education Partnership and members of Donegal Camerata.
Donegal Music Education Partnership announced a new, free, chamber music initiative for string players including violin, viola, cello & double bass, that will be piloted over two weeks in June, from Monday 10 to Thursday 20 June, 2013, in the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny
The purpose of the course is to provide the opportunity for string players to perform in a chamber group setting, to further develop ensemble, sight-reading and performing skills, and to expand their repertoire with future public performances planned. Students taking part in the course will be coached by professional string players, members of Donegal Camerata, who are also tutors of Donegal VEC Music Education Partnership and members of the European String Teachers Association.
Classes run from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 June and Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, with morning sessions for more senior string players and mid-afternoon for more junior string players.
Senior classes (intermediate to advanced players): 11am – 2pm: Junior classes (minimum 3 years playing experience): 4pm – 6.30pm
While there is no registration fee, participation is by application only.
