The number of people on the live register in Donegal has fallen by close to 200 in the last year.
The latest figures show there were 20,864 people on the live register in Donegal in March, compared to 21,051 in March last year, a fall of 187. The March figure is down 101 on last month. Killybegs and Ballybofey were the only unemployment offices in the county that saw an increase last month. Most of the other unemployment office in the county experienced small falls in the number on the live register.
In Killybegs there was increase of 58 to 1,172 while in Ballybofey the live register increased slightly to 2,663 compared to February.
In Ballyshannon the figure fell by just nine to 1,572 while Buncrana’s total fell by 62 to 4,321. A drop of 15 left the number on the live register in Donegal town at 1,451. Letterkenny saw a drop of just six to 6,014 while Dunfanaghy’s total saw a fall of 39 to 1,558.
