Flood warning for western coastal regions including all parts of Donegal has been issued for today and tomorrow.
Met Eireann have forecasted more southern parts of the West will be affected by heavy rain this afternoon, while Donegal is expected to see heavy showers later this evening and tomorrow.
The gardai have asked that motorists drive with caution and be aware of the dangers of surface water and flash flooding on roadways.
While there will be a lot of rain expected, it is understood it will not be as heavy as the thunderstorm experienced on Friday.
