Flagged up for months, today a senior garda confirmed Glenties Garda Station will no longer have a Superintendent’s office.

Speaking at Glenties District Court, Inspector Dennis Joyce said that the superintendent’s office at Glenties Garda Station will no longer be in existence in line with administrative changes that are being brought into effect on November 11.

The announcement was made before Glenties District Court began as inspector Joyce said that was the last case before the changeover.

Inspector Joyce informed solicitors that their applications will go to Ballyshannon Garda Station rather than Glenties and Dungloe administration should be sent to Milford Garda Station.

Judge Paul Kelly said that it was an occasion of great sadness.
