The trial of a garda accused of sexually assaulting two female gardaí at a north Donegal Garda Station began at Letterkenny Circuit Court today.

The male garda, who cannot be named in order to protect the identity of the alleged victims, is alleged to have sexually assaulted two female gardaí on seven occasions from October 2010 to May 2011.

Yesterday’s sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court heard how in one incident, the defendant pinned a female colleague to a chair and thrust his body in a certain sexual manner.

The garda also stood accused of having harrassed both gardaí during a period which spanned from June 2010 to September 2011.

The first of the two female gardaí began to give evidence yesterday. The defendant has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The case continues.
