The new mayor of Letterkenny will chair his first full meeting of Letterkenny Town Council tonight.
Mayor, Councillor Pascal Blake, will preside over his first meeting since being deemed the towns first citizen just over a week ago, replacing outgoing mayor, Cllr. Dessie Larkin.
Among the motions expected to be tabled at tonight’s meeting is a call on Minister Phil Hogan to ensure the local authority and its elected representatives have control over their expenditure of commercial rates and other incomes raised in the Letterkenny area to ensure they are spent on local public services.
The meeting takes place at Letterkenny Public Services Centre at 7pm.
