Speculation has been rife, since former tánaiste Mary Coughlan appeared at the referendum count centre in Donegal Town last Saturday, that she’s considering running as a Fianna Fáil candidate in the next European elections.

Speculation has been rife, since former tánaiste Mary Coughlan appeared at the referendum count centre in Donegal Town last Saturday, that she’s considering running as a Fianna Fáil candidate in the next European elections.

When contacted yesterday, she declined to comment.

The recent re-drawing of boundaries sees a new 4-seat Midlands-North-West constituency comprising Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo next year.
