Kara McCole who lost his life in a tragic accident in Killybegs yesterday afternoon (Friday) made his final journey back to his home in Cranny, Inver this afternoon where hundreds of mourners turned out to pay their last respects .
The funeral cortege left Letterkenny General Hospital at 3.00 pm and was met by guards of honour from both St. Naul’s CLCG and Eaney Celtic FC as it approached the Mountcharles by pass.
Cllr. John Campbell, Sec. of St. Naul’s said that it was one of the saddest days he had witnessed in the parish and one that he hoped he would never see again in his time. “ I don’t think it has really sunk in with anybody at all - it is a terrible tragedy”
Kara’s remain’s will leave his home at Cranny Lower, Inver tomorrow at 1.30 pm for funeral mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles at 2.00 pm. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Kara is survived by his parents Bernadine and Donie,brother Brendan and a large extended family.
