The official opening of the Bayview Hotel, Killybegs will take place at 8pm on Saturday, January 18 and everyone is invited.
There will be a wine reception as well as finger food and the new owner, solicitor Peter Gabriel, will be on hand to meet and greet.
Martina Gaffney, who is looking after the hotel’s marketing, told the Democrat: “Everyone here at the hotel is very, very excited about this event. We really want to celebrate the fact that the hotel, which is right at the heart of Killybegs, is back in a big way.
“Of course, it’s a very positive development for the town and for south west Donegal, not only with the creation of jobs but as a boost to the tourism industry here.
“We are confident that, as we develop the business over the coming years, the hotel will bring more and more benefits for everyone.”
Local sources in Killybegs told the Donegal Democrat the opening of the hotel is a “huge positive boost” for the town and the reaction to the news of the purchase and the very fact the hotel has been up and running over Christmas is “really welcome”. One local told us: “We all hear the bad news stories, this is a good news story and everyone is delighted.”
