Gardaí investigating the fatal road accident in Bundoran at the weekend have ruled out a car suspected of being involved.
Alan McSherry (48) died after being struck by a vehicle at Ardfarn, Bundroan at around 5 a.m. on Sunday. He had been walking to his home at Boyannagh, Co. Leitrim when the accident occurred. It is understood he was discovered by his wife who went to find him after receiving missed calls on her phone.
Parts of a vehicle were found at the scene and gardaí have appealed for the driver to come forward.
Inspector Denis Joyce said test results from a car seized on Monday that was found close to the scene have ruled it out of the equation.
He said gardaí have taken statements from quiet a few witnesses. “We are appealing for information for anyone who was in the area between 4.30 a.m. and 5.15 a.m.,” he said.
