A notorious paedophile from the UK spent his summer holidays in south Donegal in the mid 1970’s, the Donegal Democrat can reveal.
The late Peter Righton was one of the UK’s leading child protection specialists. He was also a founder of the Paedophile Information Exchange, which wanted the age of what they called “child love” to be reduced to four.
Police found hard core child abuse images at Righton’s home in 1992. They also found correspondence dating over 25 years between Righton and other paedophiles in Britain and around the world.
A couple who own a cottage near a well known sea resort in south Donegal were horrified when they recently realised that this man had stayed in there in the 1970s.
