A controlled explosion has been carried out on an suspect device found outside a house in Inishowen.
It was carried out by an army bomb disposal team in Gleneely yesterday afternoon at approximately 2.30pm.
Minor damage was caused to a door of the premises by the blast from what has been described as a viable improvised explosive device.
House in the area had been evacuated
Gardai cordoned off the house at Carnmore after a suspicious device was found at the rear of the dwelling. A farmyard next to the house was also cordoned off.
An Army spokesperson said: “All items of an evidential nature have now been handed over to the Gardai to assist them in their investigation.”
