Contractors for the new €5m primary health care centre in Ballyshannon should be in place before the end of the year, the HSE has confirmed.
The Donegal Democrat revealed a fortnight ago that the long-planned conversion of the former Mercy Convent had been given the green light to go to construction.
This week, the HSE confirmed that the project is proceeding apace.
The HSE’s area Manager for Donegal John Hayes confirmed that the project was advertised for tender in July and the appointment of a contractor is currently being finalised.
An HSE spokesperson said: “It is intended to have all documentation relating to contracts finalised and a contractor appointed in 2013.”
