The appeal by Majella O’Donnell for the Irish Cancer Society after shaving her head off on the Late Late Show on Friday last could well reach the €500,000 mark after topping the €400.000 on Monday last.

Speaking on the Ryan Tubridy show on Monday Morning an emotional Majella said that the amount raised to date had exceeded her wildest expectations adding that if she raised €10,000 she would be doing well but that her husband Daniel told her to aim for €100,000.

“I thought then that I would aim for €50K and that if I aim for the stars, I’ll get the moon. Mother of God Almighty and Heaven above, it is absolutely incredible.”

Ryan Tubridy confirmed that the reaction she received was the greatest he had experienced in his time presenting the show.

Donations can still be made by logging into www.cancer .ie/getthegirls or call 1850 60 60 60.

As Majella has said, “every cent counts.”
