Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery in St Johnston last night.
Two masked men, one of them armed with a sword, entered a premises on the town’s Main Street at around 10.45 pm.
They are understood to have escaped with a substantial sum of money. One customer was in the shop at the time of the robbery.
A forensic examination of the scene was being carried out this morning.
Local councillor Gerry Crawford said robberies in homes and businesses have become common in this part of the county.
The robbery is the latest serious incident along the Donegal border this month. Last week a car was stolen at Knifepoint near Raphoe.
The night before a man was injured after he became trapped between two cars as he stopped an attempted theft of his lorry.
