A major community meeting will take place in Manorcunningham tonight in response to a spate of crimes against the elderly in the area in recent weeks.

It has been organised by local business man, Tony Morning.

He said this is a response to a spate of violent attacks against senior citizens in the Drumoghill and Manor areas in the last two weeks.

Since he pledged €2,000 as a reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible, two days ago, the fund has now reached a total of €6,000 through other donations.

Tony says he is urging everyone to support tonight’s meeting and show support to the victims of these cowardly crimes.

The meeting takes place in Manorcunningham Resource Centre at 9pm and all are welcome.
