One of the most popular songs on the radio, Happy by Pharrell Williams, is ringing out around Donegal this weekend.
Two film crews are travelling the length and breadth of the county and everyone is invited to join in.
They’re making a video, using the song as a soundtrack, to show just how happy we are here in Donegal.
It’s a move that’s been taking Facebook by storm, with many cities posting their own videos.
Donegal got into the act after Denise Blake shared the ‘Galway is Happy’ video on Facebook. PR guru Grace Ann McGarvey and Shane Wallace of Wallace Media and Donegal TV decided to put the call out to produce a Donegal version. They’re delighted with the response and a busy schedule has been put together for the next few days.
Filming took place already this morning at Glencolmcille and Sliagh Liag.
Get in on the action this afternoon, today or tomorrow as follows:
- Today: 2pm The Diamond, Donegal Town; 3.30pm The Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon; 4.30pm Bundoran Beach car park.
- Tomorrow: 9:30am Fanad Lighthouse; 11am Rathmullan statue; 12 noon Ramelton Town Hall; 2pm Letterkenny: starting at An Grianan Theatre and going to Market Square, Cathedral Car Park, Town Park and Letterkenny General Hospital.
- Sunday: 12 noon Grianan of Aileach; 2pm Five Fingers Strand and Malin Town; 2:30pm Errigal Hostel for Dunlewey and Errigal.
