The second count in Stranorlar failed to elect any more candidates.

The second count in Stranorlar failed to elect any more candidates.

It had been thought Patrick McGowan would pick up enough of Gary Doherty’s 448 surplus votes to reach the quota but he only received 25 of those votes, bringing him up to 1,439. The quota is 1,519.

Tim Meehan was eliminated after the second count and his 39 votes are now being distributed.
