Tomorrow, 12-year-old Poppy Bazeley from Crolly will have her lengthy locks cut off to benefit two worthy charities.
Poppy will donate her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation who make wigs for children suffering hairloss. Animal lover Poppy is also raising money to support the work of Wildlife Vets International, who help animals in third world countries.
Having grown her hair for six years, tomorrow she will have her ponytail cut off at the Maghery Bay Salon and this will go to make wigs for children who require them. It takes up to 20 ponytails to make one wig.
She has set up an account on www.justgiving.com/poppys-ponytail and there is “Poppy’s Ponytail Facebook .
