A 66-year-old man has gone on trial charged with sexually assaulting his nephew in Donegal more than 20 years ago.
Samuel Cunningham of Glenside Road, Dunmurry, Belfast is alleged to have sexually assaulted his then 14-year-old nephew between December 1st, 1993 and January 31st, 1994.
He has denied four counts of sexual assault at Rosguill, Downings. The alleged victim, Patrick Cunningham, has waived his right to anonymity. The offences are alleged to have taken place at a house that was owned by the Patrick Cunningham’s grandmother
The trial at Letterkenny Circuit Court got under way on Thursday morning before a jury of eight men and four women.
