The annoucement yesterday that the county’s garda drug unit is to be retained has been welcomed by anti-drugs campaigner, PJ Blake.
“I’m delighted with the news,” Mr Blake told the Donegal Democrat.
“I’d like to thank the mayors of the various local authorities who gave me their full back in my efforts to make sure the unit was not done away with,” he added.
“The unit in question carries out tremendous work and I want to commend them for that. Hopefully, the unit will get the support and the means to carry their good work on,” commented the former councillor.
