The presentation of the cheque for the annual New Year’s Day swim at Marble Hill organised by Doe Amateur Swimming Club took place in Lizzie’s Diner, Dunfanaghy Monday evening last. The Chairman of the Doe Amateur Swimming Club John Richards thanked the following for their help on the day. Mulroy Coastguard, Sean McAuliffee for sponsoring the Coastguard, Mick McGinley for cutting the tape, The Irish Red Cross, Lizzies Diner for the soup, Centra for the Mugs, Noel Brennan and Willie Sheridan, the traffic Marshalls on the day, James McGinley, Gerard Branch, Anthony Gallagher, Martin Toye, Ken Fleming and Drew Campbell, An Garda Siochana, Dr. Paul Stewart, the Registration Personnel, all the members of the club, and the community of Marble Hill for their co-operation every year and especially all the swimmers who supported the event on the day.
He also thanked all the Bucket Collectors and GROW North West this years beneficiary’s and everyone who helped in any way to make it so successful.
Josephine Keaveney accepted the cheque on behalf of GROW North West and gave a rundown on the groups work and thanked the club for giving the proceeds of the swim to them this year.
