One lucky person in Donegal woke up €4.8m richer this morning.
It’s a great sign that the luck is with the county ahead of the All-Ireland Finals on Sunday.
The winning ticket, a €6 Quick Pick, was bought yesterday at Cullen’s shop in Cockhill, Buncrana.
Shop owners Cathal Cullen said he received a call from the National Lottery last night after the draw.
“We are absolutely delighted to have sold the winning ticket, we’re over the moon!”
He told the Democrat that a man came into the shop at 9am this morning to confirm he was the winner.
“The man is part of a syndicate of thirteen people working at the Forward Emphasis call centre in Malin Head.
“He knew right after the draw that they had won but came in to us to confirm it and find out what to do next.”
A spokesperson for the group at Malin Head said they are currently getting all the syndicate members together to let them know about their fantastic news.
“It’s wonderful, incredible. We are all so excited, and still taking it in.”
