Nama holds 15 properties in Donegal

Fifteen properties in Donegal are now under the control of the National Assets Management Agency (Nama).

Fifteen properties in Donegal are now under the control of the National Assets Management Agency (Nama).

The properties have been taken over by Nama which is hoping to sell them to reclaim bad debts that it has taken off the banks.

The properties in Donegal have been put up on a list of 847 properties in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Britain which the agency has included on its website for sale.

The Donegal properties include a nursing home, two golf courses and residential developments.


The properties in Donegal listed for sale by Nama are: Blue Cedars, Ballybofey, a residential multiple; Cappry Ballbofey, a development not commenced; Carrownamaddy, Burt, a development commenced; Sheephaven Bay, Carrigart, two golf courses; Liscooley, Castlefin, a development not commenced; Doonan, Donegal Town, a development not commenced; Carrnamuggah, Letterkenny, a nursing home; Ballymacool, Letterkenny; a development not commenced; Ballymacool, Letterkenny, a development not commenced; Windy heights Letterkenny, a development commenced; Loughnagin, Letterkenny; a development not commenced, Carnamuggagh, Letterkenny; a development not commenced; Ard Ban, Muff, a development not commenced; Ballyhaskey, Newtowncunningham, a residential multiple; Ballyhaskey, Newtowncunningham, a development commenced and Townparks, Raphoe, a development not commenced.

CEO Brendan McDonagh, said the agency cannot reveal the names of the debtors whose property it has taken control of.

Nama has €72billion of loans on its books including €62b owned by 180 developers. Nama holds a total of 11,500 loans and has raised €3.9b by selling property.
