Donegal Senator Jimmy Harte will not be disciplined for missing a vote last Wednesday night when the government was defeated 27-23. Four senators, including Jimmy Harte, were absent for the vote on Senator Feargal Quinn’s private members’ bill on upward only rent reviews.

Donegal Senator Jimmy Harte will not be disciplined for missing a vote last Wednesday night when the government was defeated 27-23. Four senators, including Jimmy Harte, were absent for the vote on Senator Feargal Quinn’s private members’ bill on upward only rent reviews.

Senator Harte was away in Liverpool attending a business meeting. “I spoke with the Seanad whip, Aideen Hayden, on Wednesday night,” he told the Democrat/People’s Press on Friday. “She was satisfied with my explanation and said there was no issue.”
