Seamus Keogh says the bond at new-look Finn Harps grows stronger with each passing week.

Dave Rogers’ side easily saw off the challenge of Treaty United on Friday night with Ryan Rainey and Filip Da Silva netting in either half to secure three valuable points, which helped the side into seventh place in the First Division.

Speaking after, the Grange native says the home support at Finn Park at the weekend made a real difference at crucial junctures in proceedings.

“We needed that,” said the former Sligo Rovers man. “We’re not afraid to front up in relation to Waterford and that result down there. But I think we showed a real reaction since. It’s a very young squad and these are all learning experiences.

“But I think tonight showed just what we’re about. That’s what Dave pushes, togetherness, unity and there is a real family feel to matters.

“The crowd, I know we mention it every time, but they were fantastic again there. I really felt it there in the last ten minutes. We were out on our feet but they helped push us over the line. It really does help”.

Next up for Harps is an away trip to Wexford. James Keddy’s men currently occupy sixth place, just a single point ahead of Rogers’ team.

“We’re taking it game by game, really. We’ll look at that now when we regroup. But we’ll be ready”.
