Why they won: The winners at the Donegal Sports Star Awards

The various category winners were presented with their awards at a special reception at the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny on Friday evening. Here's who won what and why they won it

PRIMARY SCHOOL (SMALL <100)

The winner of the 2025 Small Primary School Award is Tiernasligo N.S., Dunaff, Clonmany

As a small school with just under 50 students they take pride in their commitment  to sport. 

Tiernasligo is active in Athletics, Soccer, GAA, Rounders, Gaelic Football, Tug of War, Cycling and Walking.  In the Autumn of 2024  there was Gold in the Inishowen Cross Country Finals in Buncrana in the U13 Boys team event while there were individual medal winners in both the U9 and U11 Girls finals. Those children went on to represent the school in the County Finals.  

In April both the Boys and Girls teams made it to the Inishowen Finals Day of the 5-a-side soccer competition. At the Cumann na mBunscol in June, Tiernasligo were crowned Donegal Rounders Champions in the 3 to 7 Teacher Category.
