Donegal have won the Dr McKenna Cup nine times in the past. Chris McNulty takes a whistle stop tour back in time

1985 - Donegal 0-13 Cavan 0-8

Donegal had a convincing win over Cavan at Irvinestown in a game that had, according to the Democrat, ‘some nice football, but not much excitement’.

Marty Carlin led the way as Donegal led 0-9 to 0-4 at half-time and Bosco Reid scored a quick fire point on the resumption.

Philim Costello had a goal chance for Cavan that hit the post. It was as close as the Breffni went.
