Efforts to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses across Donegal are continuing, with essential maintenance works taking place this week.
Crews will continue with important reservoir cleaning works at Croithlí Water Treatment Plant on Thursday. On Friday, works will be carried out in Pettigo. Works will be carried out between 8am and 6pm and crews will endeavour to complete the essential cleaning works and restore the supply to normal levels as quickly as possible.
"These cleaning works of our reservoirs are necessary to continue to provide a safe, clean and reliable supply to customers,” Uisce Éireann’s Damien O’Sullivan said. “We will make every effort to avoid water supply outages; however, some customers may experience a water supply outage for a short period only.
"Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience when planned works like this occur and thanks customers for their patience while we complete these essential maintenance works".
Although unlikely, customers in these locations may experience some supply disruptions while the works are underway.
Donegal County Council recommends allowing 3-4 hours for your supply to fully return.
