Paul Canning, Fianna Fáil, Terry Crossan, Sinn Féin who were elected in the Buncrana LEA
Paul Canning, Fianna Fáil, Terry Crossan, Sinn Féin and Fionán Bradley, Fianna Fáil, were all elected in the final count in the Buncrana LEA as counting closed on Sunday evening to complete the five-seat local electoral area.
Sitting coucnillors Canning and Crossan were returned after eight rounds of counting after Jack Murray, Sinn Féin and Joy Beard, 100% Redress),were elected together on the first count.
Bradley was elected for Fianna Fáil after long-standing Buncrana councillor Rena Donaghey did not run.
Sinn Fein’s first-time candidate Niamh McGuinness was in contention until the final count. Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil took two seats with 100% Redress taking one.
Joy Beard and Fionán Bradley have been elected for the first time and take the seats held by Rena Donaghey and Nicholas Crossan.
