New York successfully defended their All-Ireland Junior Football title with a narrow two-point win over London in a tightly contested final at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.

Former Na Rossa player Ryan McCready lined out at centre half-back for London but it was the American outfit that just got over the line with two to spare.

New York deservingly led by two at the break, 0-12 to 1-7 havinglooked the more fluid side in the opening half.

The second half brought further drama as London hit a second goal through Conor Redican and added a two-point score from Noel Maher to draw within one.

The final quarter was nervy, with both sides missing chances in a tense scoreless spell, but New York eventually settled and added two late points to see out the game.

This win secures back-to-back titles for New York and confirms their growing stature in the junior inter-county ranks. It was a deserved, if hard-earned, victory for a side that showed composure and belief when it mattered most.
