Last season's defeated finalists Naomh Columba continue to look like they mean business once again as they scored a huge 24-point IFC win over Na Rossa in Glencolmcille

Naomh Columba recorded a comprehensive victory over Na Rossa on Sunday at Páirc na nGall.

Pauric Ward got the home side off to a good start with a point from play, which was cancelled out by an Odhrán Molloy effort at the other end.

Three further points followed from Pauric Hegarty, an Aaron Doherty free, and Ryan Gillespie before a well-taken Aaron Doherty goal after good work by both Alex Cunnea and Shane Callaghan.

Naomh Columba struck for a second goal soon after, Shane Callaghan finishing well for the first of his two majors. 

Adrian Hanlon responded with two points for the visitors, but further scores from Doherty and Gillespie kept the hosts in control. Christopher Byrne then hit the net to leave the half-time score: Naomh Columba 3-7 Na Rossa 0-4.

Na Rossa opened the second half with a point from substitute Jamie Doherty, but Ronan O’Hare replied before Shane Callaghan struck again for his second goal of the day. 

Naomh Columba continued to pick off points through Pauric Hegarty, Aaron Doherty (free) and Ryan Gillespie. Adam McHugh pointed for Na Rossa, but the home side finished strongly with three points from Eric Carr and another from Darragh Cunningham.

With the final whistle approaching, Ronan O’Hare found the net after good work from Cunningham, sealing an emphatic win for the Glen men.
