Westmeath GAA has confirmed the appointment of Mark McHugh as the new manager of the county’s senior football team.
McHugh, a Donegal All-Ireland winner from 2012, is no stranger to the Westmeath setup, having already served as coach alongside Dermot McCabe.

A backroom team has also been assembled to support McHugh. Emmet McDonnell of Coralstown Kinnegad will serve as assistant manager and selector, with Tyrone duo Ryan Daly taking on the role of head coach and selector, and Stephen 'Archie' Beattie joining as coach. Jamie Gunoud of Tyrrellspass will act as selector, while Tom Gribben from Armagh has been named head of performance.
“We wish Mark and his backroom team every success in the season ahead and assure them of our full support,” a statement from Westmeath GAA read.
