Kilcar are on course to make the knock-out stages of the U-21C Championship with a second win on Saturday at home to Red Hughs in Towney.

After a few years when the club didn’t win an U-21 game, they have now won two in-a-row.

The Killygordon side gave as good as they got in the opening half with the strong wind at their back but when Kilcar got the advantage, they made full use of it in the second period.

Kilcar led by 2-4 to 1-3 at the break with goals from Ben Rafferty and Liam McLaughlin.

Rafferty also hit two frees with Michael O’Donnell getting the other first half ponts.

And even though Red Hughs competed well at the start of the second half, a third goal from Michael O’Donnell opened the scoring floodgates.

The impressive Ben Rafferty hit three two pointers, two from frees while Jack Hegarty also contributed a two pointer.

The final two goals for the winners came from Oisin McShane and Michael O’Donnell.

Kilcar finish off the group stages next week when they host neighbours Killybegs in Towney.
