Maxi Curran’s St Ergnat’s, Moneyglass were defeated in the final of the All-Ireland Ladies SFC by the five-in-a-row winners Kilkerrin-Clonberne in Croke Park.
The Antrim and Ulster champions went into the game as big underdogs against the impressive and all-conquering Galway side.
And a 2-8 to 1-5 defeat ended their dreams as goals in either half from Chloe Miskell and Lynsey Noone set the Connacht champions on their way.
Leah Stewart’s goal made it a two point game at the break at 1-4 to 1-2, shortly after a clinical strike from Miskell.

Stewart hit 1-2 in total for her side, while Maria O’Neill, Cathy Carey and Bronagh Devlin got their other scores.
Downings native Curran led the side to the final, becoming the first Antrim side to make an All-Ireland senior final, after defeating Leinster champions Kilmacud Crokes.
